The Boys and the Frogs – Aesop’s Fables
A band of spirited boys were reveling near this pond, which was also the dwelling of numerous Frogs. Seeking to elevate their mirth, the boys began flinging stones onto the pond, watching them dance upon the water’s surface, creating ripples.
Yet, beneath those ripples lay waves of terror. Each stone cast by the boys sent shivers down the spines of the unsuspecting Frogs, turning their peaceful haven into a zone of trepidation.
Seeing the distress of his kin, the most venerable and valiant Frog emerged, voicing a heartfelt plea. “Dear young souls,” he began, “I implore you to rethink your pastime. While it brings you laughter, for us, it threatens calamity.”

On that sun-kissed day, a lesson was etched in the memories of the village’s youth: A moment’s joy for some might mean a lifetime of sorrow for others. True merriment should never come at another’s expense.
