The Sheep and the Pig – Aesop’s Fables
In the vast open meadow, Sheep grazed quietly when unexpectedly, a chubby Pig entered their peaceful domain. The shepherd, spotting a potential feast, wasted no time in seizing the Pig. The instant he did, the Pig let out a scream that echoed across the pasture, making it seem as if it were in immense agony. Yet, the shepherd, undeterred by the noise and the Pig’s flailing, began his march towards the town’s butcher.
The Sheep, finding this rather amusing and peculiar, trailed them to the meadow’s boundary. One puzzled Sheep inquired, “Why such a fuss? We get picked by the shepherd now and then, but we never create such a scene.”
Catching its breath between loud squeals, the Pig exclaimed, “For you, it’s a mere shearing. For me, it’s bacon on the line! Gree-ee-ee!”
